About Us
As far back as I can remember I have enjoyed creating an array of hand-crafted heirlooms. In 1987, while at a show in Massachusetts, I discovered the art of floor cloths. I began researching the history behind them and realized it was something I needed to learn. Soon requests from family and friends started rolling in.

By 1997 I was introduced to rug hooking. After several years of hooking rugs, I still had the desire to create floor cloths. I began adapting my designs to be both hooked and painted. It wasn’t long before I realized these same designs would also adapt beautifully to Penny Rugs. Through the encouragement of family and friends, I have decided to venture out and offer these various design options to you.

I hope you will enjoy the site. Thank you for visiting Payton Primitives. Be sure to check back for updates.
